I am Donald Nikolaos Skilja, an Unlimited Chief Engineer and the founder of Mediterranean Yacht Service & Repair (MEDI‑YSR). Based in Perama, my team and I provide maintenance, repairs and technical support for yachts and other vessels.

I have worked in the maritime industry for more than 20 years, aboard yachts and tugboats and in shipyards. As Chief Engineer on yachts of up to 65 metres, I was responsible for the operation and maintenance of their engines, generators and onboard systems. My experience also includes leading technical teams, resolving faults under pressure and managing shipyard work and major refit projects.

I have brought that experience to MEDI‑YSR. My team and I begin each job by understanding the problem and checking how the system works as a whole. We explain what we find, recommend a practical solution and carry out work on main engines, generators, electrical installations, switchboards, automation, pumps, cooling and air conditioning systems, and other onboard equipment.

I know firsthand what it means when a fault appears shortly before departure. I also know how much captains and crew value clear communication and a technical partner they can rely on. That is how we work every day: with sound judgement, attention to safety and respect for each vessel’s schedule and needs.

Our Services

Our services know no limit as our team is composed of engineers, electrical engineer, IT engineer, carpenters, fabric-leather covers and painters.
We will be more than happy to provide you with a quotation for your maintenance, rebuild, reconstruction or just troubleshooting in the spot, since we offer reasonable prices.

Maintenence
of main engine

Services on diesel engines like MTU, MAN, Caterpillar ect we provide maintenance, repair or troubleshooting, cleaning water coolers, oil coolers, injectors repair or nozzle replacement, valves clearances ect

Refrigerator, air-condition systems

Μaintenance of the systems, cleaning water coolers, adding freon, finding leaks ect

Auxiliary engines maintenance

Service on diesel auxiliary engines like MAN, Kohler, John deere, Caterpillar are some of the engines that we can provide you fully service maintenance, repair, replacement, or just solution on your problems

Calibration/installation of level sensors

Some of the majority systems on board are the level of the fuel, sewage, gray, dirty tanks ect we can provide repair/calibration if is possible on the existing system replace with the most competitive brands and price.

Electric marine panel classic

The electrical systems on board are our primary care, we can support on old classic automation system or on new PLC (program logic controler).
We can make your ship or Yacht to be more efficient on fuel costs and environment care with less energy lost.
Also providing solutions on interior lighting with new LED systems.

Pms system (program management software)

The electronic version of electric systems on board are also our favorite, on PMS systems we are able to repair, replace or fix issues that may you have on load sharing power management between generators or shaft generator.
